The research center Business Informatics is celebrating a success: The group "IoT & Cybersecurity" of the university network RUN-EU was selected among the top 5 for its Impact Case Study at the RUN-EU Impact Showcase Challenge. Martin Dobler and Michael Hellwig from the Business Informatics research center are involved. The group, consisting of over 30 researchers from eight RUN-EU partner institutions, has focused on building a strong community for research and education in the field of IoT and cybersecurity. Their work includes developing new security solutions, characterizing new cyber threats & bridging the gap between academia, industry & security policy development. In the area of teaching, the group runs a Short Advanced Program (SAP) on the topic of "Hack your Device".
Development of AI-supported tools
The Business Informatics research center is primarily involved in the group's research activities. Two research papers have been published in international journals. The articles provide cyber security researchers with valuable resources and methods for using public data sets to develop AI-based tools that can improve the cyber security of companies' operational technology (OT). The success of this impact case study demonstrates the relevance & impact of the work of the 'IoT & Cybersecurity'group in the RUN-EU network.
