Studies: passed. Love: for life.

14.02.2026
Happy Valentine's Day Julia and Sandro Bieringer! The two of them started studying together at the FHV. Today they are a family of five.

Some love stories begin in the classic way, others start with a course. This was the case for Julia and Sandro Bieringer, who met in September 2017 at the start of their International Business Administration degree course at the FHV. What began as a joint study program soon became something more and in 2019 they got married. Today, they are a family of five with three sons. The FHV remains a very special place for both of them, because this is where it all began.

Positive study experience

The degree programme was not only new for the students at the time, but also for the programme director at the time, Martin Hebertinger, for whom it was the first year in this role. Looking back, Sandro and Julia agree: "He did a great job and contributed significantly to our very positive study experience."

Strong network

For Sandro, studying at the FHV meant much more than just an academic education. At the beginning, he still lived and worked in Switzerland (Canton Schwyz) and commuted to Vorarlberg at the weekends. But over time, not least because of Julia, his place of study became a new center of life. Sandro quit his job in Switzerland, settled down professionally in Vorarlberg and moved his main residence to Dornbirn. "Studying at the FHV made my start here much easier. Right from the start, I had a strong network of fellow students, many of whom are still close friends today, and of course my wife."

Career and studies

Today, Sandro is part of the FHV himself: as Head of Accounting & Controlling. Julia now works at Doppelmayr as an accountant. Both benefit from the technical content of the degree course, but also from something that goes beyond that: organizational skills, personal responsibility and the ability to combine studying and working. Both Julia and Sandro were employed 100% during their studies.

A place for connections

They both particularly remember the personal environment at the FHV: "You never felt like a number here, but always like a person who was listened to. These positive memories were ultimately also decisive for Sandro having his job at the FHV today. On Valentine's Day, this story shows that the FHV is not only a place of learning, but also a place of connections. Both professionally and privately. For Sandro and Julia, their semester dates were a milestone in their lives. One that will forever be linked to their shared history.
