FHV – Data protection and information on the management of data for the children’s university
The Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV) handles your personal data with care and diligence. In processing your data, we comply with national and European data protection regulations.
Purpose of data processing and categories of data:
We would like to inform you that all personal data provided to FHV as part of the registration for participation in the Children’s University will be used for the registration and execution of these events. The data is processed using automated systems. Information entered and submitted via the registration form is stored and processed by FHV. This includes, for example: names, contact details (email address, postal address, etc.), the child’s date of birth, name of the legal guardian, the selected course title, any declarations of consent regarding data processing and receipt of information, consent to photo and video recordings, as well as the resulting photos and videos of the course.
Your data and that of your registered child will be used for direct marketing purposes, specifically to send you information and invitations about similar events or services offered by FHV. This use is justified as a legitimate interest of FHV. You may object to this processing for direct marketing purposes at any time by sending an email to: kinderuni@fhv.at. The lawfulness of data processing prior to objection remains unaffected.
If the Children’s University is held in the form of online lectures, these will be made available via a non-public area of YouTube, allowing access without the need for a YouTube account.
Legal basis:
The processing of personal data for the delivery of the Children’s University is based on the performance of a contract in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Data processing for the purpose of receiving information for marketing purposes and for the creation of photo and video recordings is based on FHV’s legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. This legitimate interest arises from FHV’s educational mission and its need to remain competitive.
You may object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes and the use of photos and video recordings at any time by emailing: kinderuni@fhv.at.
Recipients:
Where necessary for the implementation of the event, FHV may pass on your personal data and that of your child to the Vorarlberg State Conservatory and/or the University College of Teacher Education Vorarlberg.
In the case of online lectures, the recordings are provided via YouTube. You can find YouTube’s privacy information here: https://www.datenschutz.org/youtube
Photos and video recordings may be published on the FHV website and on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. They may also be passed on to media companies for publication, including print media. Additionally, they may be used in flyers, brochures, and other printed materials for distribution.
Data retention period:
Your data will be retained by FHV for as long as your child is eligible to attend the Children’s University or Youth University based on age, unless you object to the processing.
Your data protection rights:
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access your personal data, request rectification or erasure, restrict processing, data portability, and the right to withdraw consent or object to processing.
Requests or queries regarding your rights can be directed to: datenschutz@fhv.at
If the data processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by emailing datenschutz@fhv.at. If the processing is based on FHV’s legitimate interest, you may raise an objection on justified grounds. The legality of any processing conducted prior to your objection remains unaffected.
If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully or your data protection rights have been violated, please contact FHV’s Data Protection Officer at datenschutz@fhv.at. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
