Data protection information for recognition of foreign qualifications (Pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR)
FHV handles your personal data carefully and conscientiously. In processing data, we comply with national and European data protection regulations.
Purpose of data processing:
We process the personal data you provide to us for the purpose of examining the requirements and, where applicable, carrying out the recognition (nostrification) procedure. Your data will be processed with the aid of automated systems.
Legal basis:
As universities of applied sciences have been entrusted with the task of conducting nostrification procedures in the public interest, this data processing activity is based on this legal foundation pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e GDPR.
There is no legal, contractual, or other obligation to provide your data. However, if you do not provide the necessary data, we will not be able to process your application or inform you accordingly.
Information about data processing while you are attending courses and/or internships at FHV as mandated by the nostrification decision will be provided to you later, prior to the conclusion of the contract.
Recipients:
The collected data is used internally by FHV staff and forwarded internally as necessary. FHV is supported in the implementation of nostrification procedures by the external nostrification office of FHV, located in the building of the Office of the Vorarlberg Provincial Government in Bregenz. Applications for nostrification, including supporting documents, must therefore be submitted to the external nostrification office of FHV.
For the cooperation between FHV and the external nostrification office, the data is stored by FTAPI Software GmbH, Steinerstr. 15f, 81369 Munich, HRB 189499. Further information can be found at: https://www.ftapi.com/datenschutz/
In accordance with legal obligations, data is also transmitted to Statistik Austria for statistical purposes.
If there are uncertainties regarding your documents or the authentication thereof, FHV may contact the relevant university or foreign representation authority and transmit the data necessary for verification of the authentication.
Retention period:
Nostrification decisions and related relevant documents may be retained for up to 80 years. Documents and data that are not relevant to the nostrification decisions will be deleted once FHV’s legitimate interest in retaining them no longer applies.
Rights of data subjects:
We would like to inform you that, within the scope of the law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, and object to the processing of your personal data. Requests or applications in this context can be sent to datenschutz@fhv.at.
If the data processing is based on FHV’s legitimate interests, you may submit a justified objection to datenschutz@fhv.at. The lawfulness of data processing carried out up to the point of objection remains unaffected.
If you believe that your data is being processed unlawfully, we kindly ask you to contact us at datenschutz@fhv.at. Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority, which is the competent supervisory authority.
