LeBi - Settling In and Integrating
Successful Onboarding for SMEs in the Lake Constance Region
The Interreg ABH VI–funded project led by FHV Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, in cooperation with OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and Kempten University of Applied Sciences, supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the Lake Constance region through an innovative online toolbox for implementing and professionalising onboarding processes. The project helps SMEs successfully integrate and retain new employees from diverse backgrounds and reduce early-stage staff turnover.
Project Objective
In times of skilled labour shortages, even small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) require defined onboarding processes to reduce early-stage employee turnover and foster long-term commitment. By developing and testing an online toolbox in collaboration with pilot companies from Vorarlberg, eastern Switzerland, and southern Germany, the project provides solid, practice-oriented support for SMEs to implement structured onboarding processes. The toolbox is designed to address both the different phases of a professional onboarding process and the diverse backgrounds and needs of various employee groups. To embed this solution regionally in the Lake Constance area and beyond, the project collaborates with a wide range of regional stakeholders and companies. In total, more than 30 partners from Vorarlberg, eastern Switzerland, and southern Germany are involved in the project’s implementation.
