How did you transition from medical imaging to business informatics?
I completed my doctorate in the field of medical imaging and became involved with AI methods early on. My research then focused on large language models in radiology. In the process, I became increasingly aware of how well these methods can also be applied to economic issues. In business informatics, I discovered a new, exciting field outside of medicine in which I can apply and further develop my technical knowledge.
What particularly interests you about digital transformation?
I am fascinated by how digitalization and AI can transform the worlds of work, learning, and entrepreneurship. I would like to investigate who ultimately benefits from digital transformation, by how much, and how this transformation can be achieved while considering technological, economic, and social factors.
What motivates you to work as a researcher at the FHV?
As a curious person who likes to get to the bottom of things, science is of course the ideal playground. For me, however, research is not just about data, analyses and results, but also about interdisciplinary collaboration and communication. This also includes switching off and changing perspectives, for example in the mountains. For me, the FHV combines all of this in one place.
