What can you expect?

Empowerment and agility – two terms that have been used in many ways in numerous organisations for almost 15 years. At the same time, many organisations have been trying for a long time to bring these terms to life and change their own culture accordingly.

There is a good reason for the trend towards empowerment, especially in the context of team leadership. The need for new leadership concepts and a changed organisational culture is evident in growing complexity, crises and constant change.

If an organisation wants to (continue to) be fast and customer-centric, it can afford fewer and fewer hierarchies and must at the same time facilitate decision-making and freedom of action for all employees. However, to ensure that the organisation does not end up in (business) chaos but rather in a high-performing zone, leadership is all the more important, not the opposite. Leadership must change, however, becoming more empathetic, psychological, coaching and at the same time demanding.

Daniel Zacher uses various examples from his everyday management experience over the last decade in industry and in the municipal sector to illustrate how all this can work at the same time. One focus is on his current role as managing director for approximately 250 employees of the city of Landau, where he has been shaping the transformation and cultural change towards an empowered, high-performing organisation for over a year.
