Workshops
How do I prepare for medical consultations, what questions should I ask, and how can I recognise reliable health information? In this interactive workshop, participants will develop practical tools based on real-life examples to gain greater confidence and orientation within the healthcare system. The BRUSTBEWUSST programme serves as a clear example of prevention and health literacy.
with Nadja Will, Expertin für Gesundheits- & Krebskommunikation / Frauengesundheit
This workshop combines breast health with the themes of body awareness, self-care, and mental resilience in everyday life. At its core is a mindful approach to one’s own body as an important resource for health and wellbeing.
with Sabrina Horvath, Dipl. Gesundheits- und Krankenschwester, Dipl. Mental- und Achtsamkeitstrainerin
In this workshop, participants will gain practical insights into how targeted training and everyday physical activity can measurably reduce the risk of breast cancer, as supported by scientific evidence. Workshop leader Dr Vollert explains the biological mechanisms behind the protective effects of exercise and shows how hormones, the immune system, and other health parameters can be effectively strengthened. Participants will leave with concrete, tailored movement strategies that can be easily integrated into daily life without great effort.
with Dr. Hans-Walter Vollert, Chefarzt der Frauenklinik am Klinikum Friedrichshafen und Leiter des Brustkrebszentrums Bodensee am Medizin Campus Bodensee
In this workshop, women will learn how to regularly and systematically examine their breasts in order to detect changes at an early stage and take an active approach to prevention. An experienced, visually impaired medically trained tactile examiner will demonstrate step by step how to perform palpation. Participants will develop a better awareness of their own bodies and gain confidence in managing their personal preventive care.
with Sylwia Pietr, Medizinisch-taktile Untersucherin, discovering hands Österreich
A mindful yoga session, either seated or on the floor, focusing on the upper body, chest area, and inner body awareness. Through conscious movement, breath, and gentle activation of lymphatic flow, space is created for openness, self-care, and a compassionate connection with oneself.
with Christine Huber - Yogalehrerin - DGKS - Ayurveda
Breast cancer can present in many different ways. Screening is not always the first step towards diagnosis, and not every lump or pain is malignant. In this workshop, women will learn about the key signs and different manifestations of the disease, who is at higher risk, and what different forms mean for prognosis and treatment.
with Dr. Angelika Franz, OÄ im Brustgesundheitszentrum des Krankenhaus Dornbirn und Gynäkologin mit eigener Praxis
In this workshop, participants will focus on hands-on experience with the MammAware VR application. They will discover how innovative technologies can support learning breast self-examination in an intuitive and lasting way.
with Elias Berchtold, Andreas Künz & Sebastian Rangger - wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter & VR Entwickler im Forschungszentrum Human-Centred Technologies, Forschungsprojekt MammAware
This event takes place as part of the MammAware research project.
