FHV Engineering and Technology degree programmes rated very highly in university rankings

15.05.2025
The latest results of the university ranking by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) confirm the high level of student satisfaction at the FHV. The three bachelor's degree programmes Electronics and Information Technology Dual, Environment and Engineering and Mechatronics were evaluated.

The renowned Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) recently published the latest rankings for universities in German-speaking countries. 120,000 students from more than 300 universities and colleges submitted their ratings, which appear in the ZEIT Study Guide 2025/26. At the FHV, the three bachelor's degree programmes Electronics and Information Technology Dual, Environment and Engineering and Mechatronics were up for assessment. The students surveyed were particularly impressed by the organization of studies and the very good infrastructure with teaching, learning and work rooms, library and IT equipment. "The very good ratings confirm our continuous work on the further development of the university and show that we are at the cutting edge with our courses. We offer our students excellent conditions and a high-quality education," explains Stefan Fitz-Rankl, Managing Director of the FHV.

Current course contents

In the students' assessment, the range of courses on offer was above the average of all other universities assessed. In particular, the opportunities for individual subject specialization in the degree course, the breadth and structure of the course content and its topicality were rated above average. Another plus point according to the CHE ranking is the excellent supervision by lecturers and the support provided during studies, e.g. through opportunities to network with other students. The use and high-quality preparation of digital teaching elements and their support for learning were highlighted.

Successful path

FHV Rector Regine Kadgien: "Our study programs enable students to actively shape the future. We are very pleased with the excellent rating - it is an expression of cooperation at eye level and at the same time an incentive to continue on our successful path." The FHV offers 25 study programs at Bachelor's and Master's level in the Departments of Engineering and Technology, Business, Design and Work and Health. The next application deadline for the coming academic year is May 31. "We look forward to getting to know the applicants personally," says Regine Kadgien, inviting those interested to send in their applications.

FHV Open on June 13

Save the date! On June 13, the FHV campus will open its doors to the public. It will be informative and entertaining with guided tours of the technical laboratories, design labs, library and research centers. The program provides information about the wide range of study options and also has exciting things in store for the whole family: controlling robots, programming machines or experiencing how the heart beats in the chest with virtual reality glasses. And even the little ones will get their money's worth - with face painting, a bouncy castle and ice cream. Further information: www.fhv.at/fhvoffen
