This course will cover the following topics:
- causes and effects of migration to the countries of destination and countries of origin,
- life realities of migrants and people with a migrational background,
- possibilities and problems of interculturality (intercultural learning, models of integration, etc.)
- case work within the intercultural context
Stundents
- understand and articulate fundamentals, structures and the theoretical background of the practice field
- understand knowledge of social sciences and relate it to concepts of interaction in social work
- reflect the actual situation with regard to literature findings
- expand their basic knowledge and are able to discuss the main characteristics of intercultural and international social work
- attain contact with local social NGO’s (practice field, community organizations, etc.) and are able to lead debates with them expand their competencies of analysis, reflection and cooperation through international exchange and networking
