Orange the World: Silent march
What can you expect?
As part of Orange the World, the FHV department Social Work, the Diversity Unit at the FHV, the ÖH (Austrian National Union of Students) at the FHV and the Caritas Wirkraum in Dornbirn are organising a vigil to commemorate the victims and all women* affected by violence.
A silent march leads from the FHV to the Caritas Wirkraum in Dornbirn. A 30-minute reading and memorial service will take place there. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas over warm meals and an accompanying exhibition.
Protection from violence is a human right, but for many it is not a reality. This is clearly illustrated by the following figures:
- In 2024, 27 femicides and 41 attempted murders were recorded in Austria
- On average, three murders occur here every month
- In 2025, 10 femicides and 16 attempted murders or cases of serious violence have already been recorded by 21 August
