European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)

Supporting international recognition and student mobility

ECTS makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and facilitates the recognition of studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also aids curriculum design and quality assurance.

FHV is one of the few European institutes of higher education that in the past has been awarded both the ECTS Label and the Diploma Supplement Label several times. The award of the ECTS Label indicates to students, partner institutions and other institutes of higher education that the recipient organisation has correctly implemented the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), which ensures the fair and proper evaluation of student performance. ECTS improves transparency in international education and contributes to quality assurance at European institutes of higher education.
