What is the essence of your job as a university lecturer and what fascinates you about it?
As a university lecturer for entrepreneurship, marketing and innovation, I work intensively with new technologies, innovative business models and their impact on individuals, the economy and society. I find it particularly fascinating to impart knowledge, inspire students and support them in developing their own ideas and putting them into practice. The opportunity to work on current trends and disruptive innovations and to scrutinise them critically makes my job particularly exciting.
Which trends in your field do you find particularly interesting and in which areas are you particularly involved?
I work intensively with new business models, disruptive innovations and new forms of value creation. I find developments that change existing markets and structures, open up new entrepreneurial opportunities and have a lasting impact on individuals, the economy and society particularly exciting. I also manage the university's Startup Centre and support young founders in successfully putting their business ideas into practice.
What would you like to pass on to your students and what should they bring with them?
Curiosity, initiative and entrepreneurial thinking are crucial. I encourage students to develop their own ideas early on, to realise business ideas alongside their studies and to see failure as part of the learning process. If you have a promising idea, you should definitely visit Startup Vorarlberg - they provide the support you need to turn ideas into successful start-ups.
