Accommodation for Exchange Students

 

Finding accommodation abroad can often be one of the biggest challenges for exchange students. FHV guarantees housing for all nominated exchange students who complete the application process within the official deadlines.

The International Office coordinates the housing process and guides students through the booking procedure after admission.

Accommodation period for exchange students

 

Accommodation is reserved for the fixed duration of five months:

Autumn/Winter semester Mid-August until Mid-January
Spring/Summer semester Mid-February until Mid-July


The exact move-in and move-out dates will be communicated during the housing allocation process.

Student Residences

 

Incoming exchange students can choose between two student residences located close to the FHV campus.

Room types

 

Depending on availability, students may be accommodated in different room types, such as:

  • single apartments with private kitchenette and bathroom
  • single rooms in shared flats (2-person apartments) with shared bathroom and kitchen
  • single rooms with private bathroom and shared kitchen
  • double rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen

Detailed room information and final prices will be provided during the housing allocation process.

Accommodation Booking Process

 

The accommodation booking process for incoming exchange students is organised by the International Office.

Students will receive all necessary information after they have been admitted to FHV on a first come first serve basis.

Timeline

  • Autumn/Winter Semester
    Housing information sent around mid-June

  • Spring/Summer Semester
    Housing information sent around mid-December

Students will then receive their housing offer and booking instructions.
