Dornbirn a city with charm

Dornbirn is international and traditional at the same time. Numerous companies - including global players - have settled in Dornbirn. Nevertheless, Dornbirn has retained its village character in some parts of the city. The city of Dornbirn is characterized by a young, colorful and very active cultural scene, and sports enthusiasts also get their money's worth due to the alpine surroundings and the wide range of sports on offer in the city.

The vibrant pedestrian zone in the city center offers a variety of stores and department stores and invites you to an extensive stroll through the city. At the Dornbirn weekly market, which takes place all year round, mainly food from agricultural production is offered every Wednesday and Saturday morning. Interesting themed markets such as the "Kunsthandwerkstag" (arts and crafts day) (Bsundrigs am Marktplatz) or the Martinimarkt (St. Martin's market) also take place time and again. In Advent, the traditional "Christkindlmarkt" (Christmas market) also invites visitors to linger on the market square. Dornbirn is also home to Vorarlberg's largest shopping center, the Messepark.

Dornbirn is not only a shopping city, however, but also an internationally renowned trade fair location. Renowned and large trade fairs are held throughout the year at the extensive exhibition grounds.

Thanks to Dornbirn's manageable size, almost everything is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. In addition, the city has an excellent public transport system. With the red city buses there are connections to all parts of the city and with the yellow country buses or the train all surrounding cities and towns can be explored.
