Through corresponding agreements with partner universities you can complete a study period abroad and simultaneously obtain a degree from FHV and the respective partner university.
Bachelor Double Degree programmes
Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) in Finland and FHV launched a Double Degree programme in International Business in 2022 as part of the RUN European University alliance.
The programme is based on the mutual recognition of the Bachelor's degree programmes in International Business at HAMK and International Business at FHV. It offers students the opportunity to study in two countries. Over 3.5 years (210 ECTS), HAMK and FHV students complete an integrated curriculum and graduate with two internationally recognised Bachelor’s degrees.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP will:

complete semesters 1–4 (120 ECTS) at FHV

complete semesters 5–6 (60 ECTS) at HAMK
-
undertake a 30 ECTS work placement (minimum 20 weeks), supervised by HAMK; timing is flexible, and relevant prior work experience may be recognised

write a Bachelor’s Thesis supervised and graded by both HAMK and FHV, with the final exam/presentation jointly assessed
HAMK students enrolled in the DDP will:

complete semesters 1–4 (120 ECTS) at HAMK

complete semesters 5–6 (60 ECTS) at FHV

complete semester 7 (30 ECTS) at HAMK

write a Bachelor’s Thesis supervised and graded by both HAMK and FHV, with the final exam/presentation jointly assessed
Awarding of the Bachelor of Arts in Business (BA) Degree
Students who successfully complete the 3.5-year Double Degree programme and achieve 210 ECTS will be awarded:

Bachelor of Arts in Business from FHV

Bachelor of Business Administration from HAMK

Karel de Grote Hogeschool (KdG) in Belgium and FHV launched a Double Degree programme in Business in 2014.
The programme is based on the mutual recognition of the Bachelor’s programmes Bedrijfsmanagement KMO at KdG and International Business at FHV and offers students the opportunity to study in two countries. Over 3 years (180 ECTS), KdG and FHV students complete an integrated curriculum and graduate with two internationally recognised Bachelor’s degrees.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP will:

Politécnico de Leiria (IPL) in Portugal and FHV launched a Double Degree programme in Mechanical Engineering in 2022.
The programme is based on mutual recognition between the Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at IPL and the Mechatronics Bachelor's degree programme at FHV. It offers students the opportunity to study in two countries. Over 3 years (180 ECTS), IPL and FHV students complete an integrated curriculum and graduate with two internationally recognised Bachelor’s degrees.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP will:

Students who successfully complete the 3-year Double Degree programme and achieve 180 ECTS will be awarded:

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from IPL
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc) from FHV

Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) in Finland and FHV launched a Double Degree programme in InterMedia and Design in late 2023 under the framework of the RUN European University.
The programme is based on the mutual recognition of both institutions’ Bachelor’s programmes (Smart and Sustainable Design at HAMK and InterMedia at FHV) and offers students the opportunity to study in two countries. Students can choose between two study paths, resulting in a total duration of either 3.5 years (210 ECTS) or 4 years (240 ECTS), and graduate with two internationally recognised Bachelor’s degrees.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP - PATH 1 will:
- study semester 1 – 3 (90 ECTS) at FHV.
- study semester 4 – 5 (60 ECTS) at HAMK.
- come back to FHV for semester 6 - 8 and complete their first degree after semester 6.
- have a guaranteed spot in the corresponding MA programme at FHV to complete the rest of the courses for the degree from HAMK.
- have their Bachelor's thesis and final examination graded by supervisors from both universities.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP- will:
- study semester 1 – 4 (120 ECTS) at FHV.
- study semester 5 – 6 (60 ECTS) at HAMK.
- have the option to complete their internship abroad.
- be able to attend summer courses from HAMK to speed up their graduation.
- complete their degree during semester 7 at FHV.
- have their Bachelor's thesis and final examination graded by supervisors from both universities.
HAMK students enrolled in the DDP will:
- choose between two study paths in order to find the best fit for their individual interests.
- spend one year at FHV (either semester 4 and 5 or semester 5 and 6)
- have their final presentation graded jointly by HAMK and FHV.
- earn two degrees at the same time.
Awarding of the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree
Students who successfully complete the Double Degree programme will be awarded:

- Bachelor of Culture and Arts from HAMK

Master Double Degree programmes
The University of Agder (UiA), Norway and FHV launched a Double Degree programme in Mechatronics in 2013.
The programme is based on mutual recognition of the Mechatronics Master's degree programme at UiA and the Mechatronics Master's degree programme at FHV. It offers students the opportunity to study in two countries. Over 2 years (120 ECTS), UiA and FHV students complete an integrated curriculum and graduate with two internationally recognised Master’s degrees.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP will:

complete semester 3 (30 ECTS)* at UiA
- complete semester 4 (30 ECTS) as a joint thesis project, supervised and examined by both universities, with supervision shared between the home and host university

IPCA Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, Portugal and FHV launched a Double Degree programme in Electronics Engineering and Computers / Mechatronics in 2022.
This Double Degree Programme is based on mutual recognition of the Master's degree programme in Electronics Engineering and Computers at IPCA and the Mechatronics Master's degree programme at FHV and offers students the opportunity to study in two countries. Over 2 years (120 ECTS), IPCA and FHV students complete an integrated curriculum and graduate with two internationally recognised Master’s degrees.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP will:
- complete semesters 1–2 (60 ECTS) at FHV; students interested in the DDP are advised to contact their programme director early, as course choices in these semesters may be affected

complete semester 3-4 (30 ECTS) at IPCA
- complete semester 4 (30 ECTS) as a joint thesis project, supervised and examined by both universities, with two supervisors
Note for FHV students:
prior to starting the programme, choose the specialisations Embedded Systems and Robotics, as these are required for participation in the DDP

The programme is based on mutual recognition of the Master's degree programmes in Management in Sustainable Business at HAMK and International Management and Leadership at FHV and offers students the opportunity to study in two countries. Over 2 years (120 ECTS), HAMK and FHV students complete an integrated curriculum and graduate with two internationally recognised Master’s degrees.
FHV students enrolled in the DDP will:
- study semester 1 – 2 (60 ECTS) at FHV.
- study semester 3 – 4 (30 ECTS) at HAMK.
- complete the second year of study, at HAMK, online.
- attend one week of intensive study in Finland during February.
- have their Master's thesis and final examination graded by supervisors from both universities.
HAMK students enrolled in the DDP will:
- study semester 1 – 2 (60 ECTS) at HAMK's online programme.
- study semester 3 – 4 (60 ECTS) at FHV, in presence in Dornbirn / Austria, some online courses.
- have their Master's thesis and final examination graded by supervisors from both universities.
Awarding of the Master of Arts (MA) in Business degree
Students who successfully complete the Double Degree programme will be awarded:
