Speaker
Dr. Wolfgang Peschorn
President Finanzprokuratur
Keynote: Ethics and responsibility in the state
The liberal, constitutional, and separated-of-powers state is defined by its laws. All state institutions must therefore always act in accordance with the law. The state is not an end in itself, but the organisation of society. Consequently, all citizens share a (co-)responsibility for the state. Within this nuanced responsibility for the organisation of society—the state—actions must also be guided by ethical standards, even within a legal framework.
About the Speaker: Dr. Wolfgang Peschorn has been working at the Financial Prosecutor’s Office since 1991, which he has been leading since May 2006. This office represents and advises the Republic of Austria as well as certain state legal entities. After completing his law studies at the University of Vienna, he passed both the bar and the prosecutorial examinations. His work focuses primarily on commercial, insolvency, official liability, and administrative law. From June 2019 to January 2020, he served as Federal Minister of the Interior in the transitional government under Federal Chancellor Dr. Brigitte Bierlein.
Dr. Sabrina Schneider
Blum Foundation Professor and Head of the Research Group on Digital Business Transformation, FHV
Keynote: Limits of delegation – Ethical responsibility in dealing with AI
...in medicine, credit lending, or criminal justice predictions. But who bears responsibility when mistakes occur? And where do the ethical boundaries lie? This interdisciplinary lecture explores the interplay between technology, ethics, and societal expectations. It raises awareness of which decisions can be delegated to machines—and which cannot. After all, not everything that is technically possible and economically viable is morally justifiable.
About the Speaker: Since March 2025, Sabrina Schneider has held the Blum Foundation Professorship for Digital Business Transformation and serves as Head of the eponymous research group at FHV. Her research examines how digital technologies transform work, organisation, and strategy, with a focus on transformation processes. After completing her PhD in Innovation and Technology Management, she was a professor in Kassel and at the Management Center Innsbruck, and she also brings over ten years of experience in international strategy and organisational development.
Viktoria Schnaderbeck, B.A., M.A.
UEFA Football Board Member, TV Expert
Keynote: Fair play beyond the pitch – what business ethics can learn from sport
Using the example of the 2017 Women’s European Championship, it becomes clear how sustainable success is achieved through team spirit, discipline, and lived values. The focus is on the role of ethics in sport and the parallels to business. Topics such as fairness, equal opportunities, responsible behaviour, and resilience in dealing with pressure and mistakes demonstrate that true success only endures when it is based on clear ethical principles – both in sport and in professional life.
About the Speaker: Viktoria Schnaderbeck played for the Austrian women’s national football team from 2007 and served as its captain for nine years. She spent eleven years at FC Bayern Munich, where she won the German Championship twice and the Cup once. In 2018, she moved to Arsenal London for three and a half years, winning the English Championship with Arsenal in the 2018/19 season. In January 2022, she joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan. Schnaderbeck earned 83 caps for Austria and achieved third place with the national team at the 2017 European Championship. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and a Master’s degree in Business Psychology.
