Creativity in many facets

10.04.2026
An exhibition at the LIVID fashion store and a work placement at SCR Altach: how Hannah Hagen discovered her creative world while studying InterMedia at the FHV.

Hannah Hagen is in her fourth semester of InterMedia at the FHV. What she particularly enjoys about her studies is the mixture of creative practice, concept work and an environment that offers inspiration. Between projects, exhibitions and media work, she is developing her own creative path step by step. When Hannah decided to study, she knew one thing above all: she wanted to work creatively. The only thing she didn't know was exactly in which field. This is exactly why she chose the InterMedia degree programme at the FHV. "The spectrum is very broad. The variety of design options helped me to get to know different creative fields and develop new ideas," the 21-year-old looks back and gives an insight: "The study programme not only deals with practical design, but also with theoretical topics such as concept development and idea generation." The Dornbirn native appreciates studying in her home town because she loves being out and about in nature.

Studying at eye level

What Hannah particularly appreciates about the FHV is the atmosphere on campus. "For me, the course is characterized above all by its strong practical relevance," she says. At the same time, she describes the interaction between students and lecturers as very respectful and uncomplicated. "The excellent equipment in the laboratories makes it possible to implement ideas directly and experiment creatively. There is also a very informal atmosphere. The lecturers are very committed and supportive during the course," she sums up. An unforgettable project A particular highlight of Hannah's studies was a design project that ultimately resulted in an exhibition in the Dornbirn fashion store LIVID. "From the initial brainstorming to the finished exhibition, we experienced a rollercoaster ride," she recalls. During intensive project weeks, the students sometimes worked on their concepts from morning until late at night. Shortly before the presentation, things got particularly exciting again: "Even on the last night before the presentation, we worked until six in the morning," says Hannah. But the effort was worth it. Together with the team, they created an exhibition that everyone will remember for a long time.

Work placement at SCR Altach

Alongside her studies, Hannah also gained practical experience in marketing. During a work placement at SCR Altach football club, she was able to apply her creative skills directly in practice. Among other things, she worked on social media content, edited videos and took photos at soccer matches. "Through my studies, I was able to further expand my knowledge and creative skills and apply them in a more targeted way," she says.

Keeping an open mind

Hannah does not yet have any concrete plans for after graduation, but one direction is already emerging. She is particularly interested in the field of communication design. The most important thing for her is to continue to develop and discover new creative possibilities. She has already learned one thing from her studies: "Studying has shown me how important it is to simply try things out and remain open to new ideas."
