SCABEE International Student Competition at FHV
22.04.2026In April 2026, FHV hosted the “SCABEE International Student Competition” in Dornbirn. 24 students from Denmark, Poland, Austria and France came together over four days to tackle a real-world sustainability challenge: developing a Take-Back-Programme for chairs to reduce the environmental impact of a virtual Danish manufacturing company - a case study rooted in circular economy principles and the green transition of European industry.
The competition combined teamwork sessions, expert mentoring, peer presentations and a final round of elevator pitches. Beyond the academic programme, participants also had the chance to explore the region - including a visit to the Karren panorama in Dornbirn - and connect with each other during a social dinner.
The SCABEE project, co-funded by the EU under the Erasmus+ programme, integrates sustainability into Business and Management and Engineering curricula. At FHV, the project is implemented in cooperation between the Research Centre Business Informatics and the Department of Engineering.
Partner institutions: UCN (Denmark), Silesian University of Technology (Poland), ESTA School of Business & Technology (France).
