Successful nursing job fair at the FHV
25.06.2026Dornbirn, June 24, 2026 – The “Pflege” job fair at FHV – Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences recently took place with great success. Interested graduates in Health Care and Nursing took the opportunity to learn about career prospects from numerous home health care and long-term care facilities and to engage in conversation with potential employers.
The event was specifically aimed at graduates of the advanced program in Health Care and Nursing. Through one-on-one conversations, the aspiring nursing professionals were able to gain insights into various career fields, ask questions about career paths, and establish valuable contacts to help them launch their careers. The initiative stems from the unique situation this year, in which graduate classes from the Vorarlberg School of Nursing and the FHV are entering the job market. While many graduates initially seek positions in acute care, there are numerous attractive employment opportunities, particularly in home health care and long-term care.
Exciting Career Prospects
“The job fair demonstrated just how great the interest is in direct interaction between care facilities and aspiring nursing professionals. Especially in times of a skilled labor shortage, it is important to highlight the diversity and appeal of career fields in home health care and long-term care. The numerous discussions have made it clear just how many exciting career prospects these fields offer,” emphasizes Diana Brodda, Head of the Department of Social Work and Health and the Health Care and Nursing Competence Area at the FHV.
With its bachelor’s degree programme in Health Care and Nursing, the FHV makes an important contribution to training qualified nursing professionals for Vorarlberg. Close collaboration with industry partners ensures that students gain valuable experience in various fields even while they are still in training. “Even after graduation, the FHV remains a reliable partner for its alumni and offers a wide range of opportunities for networking and continuing education,” Brodda concludes.
