Climate, Careers & Me

In the project “Climate, Careers & Me”, children and young people learn fascinating facts about climate change, explore their own everyday lives, and make their climate actions visible. They also discover climate-related careers and role models, and actively engage with their own visions for the future. The aim is to provide pupils with knowledge about climate change, the energy transition, and the environment, while connecting it to their daily lives. Through creative workshops and hands-on activities, the pupils’ ideas and visions are gathered. The results are then prepared and shared with schools, local communities, organisations, companies, and the wider public.

Thematic modules and formats

The following topics and formats—such as workshops, excursions, and explorations—are offered to schools for selection:

  • Knowledge inputs on climate change and the energy transition

  • Insights into climate protection careers through expert speed-dating sessions

  • Methods for exploring personal environments, reflecting on individual actions, and playfully experiencing the results (including with FHV – Research Centre for Human-Centred Technologies)

  • A creative method in which young people develop concrete scenarios and ideas for a better environment (in cooperation with FHV – Department of Design)

Project objectives

The project partners aim to increase young people’s interest in research, technology, and innovation. Within the framework of the project, children and young people are encouraged to develop a broad understanding of how climate change and the energy transition impact their lives, surroundings, and future career paths. They actively engage in how research and development shape the world—and how they themselves can contribute to these processes. In particular, the project reaches out to young people who have had limited access to these topics so far, helping them discover climate-relevant careers of the future and explore new opportunities for their personal development.
