Dealing responsibly with AI: uDay at the FHV

18.05.2026
How can Europe design artificial intelligence responsibly and at the same time create innovation and competitiveness from it? This is the question uDay XXIV at the FHV is addressing under the motto #responsible AI - Europe's path to success? The conference brings together experts from science, Business and Management and society and invites all interested parties to an open exchange on the opportunities, challenges and future prospects of AI.

To kick off the event on May 21 at the FHV, two renowned experts will speak about key future issues in dealing with artificial intelligence. Martin Kandlhofer from the Austrian Computer Society (OCG) will address the question of what skills education, companies and society will need in the future to be able to use AI responsibly in his keynote speech "AI needs competence - perspectives from education, practice and European initiatives". Kandlhofer conducts research into artificial intelligence, educational robotics and computational thinking, among other things, and is involved in several European research projects. In his keynote speech "Building Digital Trust", Christopher Koska from the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation will talk about how trust in AI systems can be designed in concrete terms. The focus will be on practical approaches for responsible digital systems and cooperation between humans and technology.

With uDay, we are creating a platform where different perspectives can come together and responsible ways of dealing with AI can be discussed," emphasizes Patrick Jost, organizer of uDay and Head of the Transfer Center for Privacy Engineering at the FHV. "The interdisciplinary exchange between science, Business and Management and society is crucial in order to actively shape Europe's role in this topic."
