Lange Nacht der Forschung inspires generations

27.04.2026
What does research feel like when it can be experienced? At the Lange Nacht der Forschung 2026, the FHV invited visitors to discover science first-hand: to participate, be amazed and interact directly with researchers who are working on solutions for the future of the region. Around 5300 visitors did not miss out on the event.

The Lange Nacht der Forschung offered the opportunity to experience research up close and interactively, ask questions, experiment for yourself and take a look behind the scenes of applied science. "Arousing curiosity, inspiring amazement and making research tangible for all generations - that's exactly what we achieved at the Long Night of Research. We are delighted with the huge interest in science shown by all generations," summarizes Markus Preißinger, Head of Research at the FHV.

30 interactive stations

In the laboratories and premises of the FHV, researchers from the Departments of Engineering, Business and Technology, Design and Social Work and Health presented around 30 interactive stations together with the FHV's research centers and groups. Complex topics such as environmental monitoring, Energy, digitalization, artificial intelligence and health were presented in an understandable and often playful way.

At the heart of society

Whether observing tiny microsensors, actively controlling energy systems, immersing yourself in virtual worlds or experiencing automated electronics production live - the Lange Nacht der Forschung impressively demonstrated how research and innovation at the FHV works: practical, interdisciplinary and at the heart of society.

There was a particular focus on direct exchange. Researchers gave insights into their work in personal discussions, answered questions and invited visitors to try things out for themselves. This made research not only visible, but tangible. For children as well as adults of all ages.
