Transfer Center for Privacy Engineering: Secure handling of sensitive data
22.10.2025
The aim of the collaboration is to develop new solutions for privacy-friendly machine learning with sensitive data - especially for applications in health and business analytics.
The research focus lies at the interface of data safety, data security and data ethics. The partners are working together to develop digital systems that are not only technologically innovative, but also ethically, legally and scientifically sound.
Particular attention is paid to applications in which personal or business-critical data is processed - for example in digital healthcare. In addition to research, transfer expertise is also being developed in order to actively involve companies, organizations and public bodies in the use and further development of data protection-friendly technologies.
The center will therefore not only be a place of scientific excellence, but also a driving force for responsible digitalization in the region.
Guido Kempter, research center Human-Centred Technologies of the FHV and project manager Transfer Center for Privacy Engineering adds: "Trustworthy AI is not an obstacle, but a clear locational advantage for Europe. With our newly founded Transfer Center for Privacy Engineering, we are showing companies how data protection and AI innovation can be combined to create sustainable competitive advantages."
