"We were like a small family"
13.05.2025
What motivated you to start studying at the FHV?
Sarah Wolf: I was looking for a new professional and personal challenge. After completing my bachelor's degree in International Business Administration at the FHV, I wanted to build up in-depth knowledge in the field of Business Informatics. I found the interface between Business and Management, IT and digital transformation exciting and the part-time format was ideal for me. I was looking for a practice-oriented degree program with a direct connection to everyday working life and found what I was looking for at the FHV. The geographical proximity to my home, the mountains and my workplace at Haberkorn GmbH made it the perfect choice.
What is your professional background?
Sarah Wolf: I was already working as a trainee at Haberkorn GmbH before my studies and during this time I moved to a new position as Innovation and Requirements Manager for e-business and logistics solutions. Since then, I have been able to continuously develop my role.
What are your tasks in this position?
Sarah Wolf: I support projects in the area of e-business and logistics solutions from the requirements analysis to the final implementation and further development. I work closely with product managers, designers, developers and other stakeholders to identify requirements and problems, create concepts to solve them and plan, test and train the implementation of the solutions. Another focus of my work is the identification of innovations and the continuous optimization of processes. I also take on project management tasks and lead innovation projects.
How has the course supported you on your path to success so far?
Sarah Wolf: The course provides a strong foundation of knowledge and methods that I apply directly in my professional work. I have used many of the concepts and tools I learned directly in projects at Haberkorn GmbH.
What do you like to remember when you look back on your semester dates?
Sarah Wolf: The close cohesion in the degree program. We were like a small family. The team spirit was great and we all supported and motivated each other. We came from a wide variety of industries, which was very enriching both professionally and personally. It was just really cool to get on so well and go through the course together.
Was there a highlight of your studies?
Sarah Wolf: As part of Contextual Studies, we traveled to Finland and Estonia, which were exciting experiences. In interdisciplinary projects such as Design Thinking, we looked beyond our own horizons.
What does the FHV's Strong Partner Award, which you received at your graduation, mean to you?
Sarah Wolf: This award was a great honor and confirmation of my commitment during my studies. It showed me that commitment and passion pay off - a perfect degree.
What personal tip would you give part-time students for their career planning?
Sara Wolf: Be curious, actively seek out exchanges with others and dare to break new ground. Use your studies to broaden your horizons and build up a strong network - it will pay off in the long term. Combine theory with your professional practice - this creates real added value. Networking and teamwork makes the dream work.
Thank you very much for the interview.
