RUN-EU General Assembly and Students Week in Portugal

26.11.2025
RUN-EU continues to grow – and FHV is making a strong contribution. At the General Assembly in Portugal, it became clear just how actively staff and students are shaping European higher-education cooperation. New partnerships, awards and important strategic decisions characterised the meeting.

Following the very successful RUN-EU General Assembly and Students Week at the FHV last year, the fifth edition of this major event took place this year in Portugal at the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (IPCA). The motto was "Innovation in Action: Transforming our Regions Together". Employees, students and associated partners from all RUN-EU partner institutions discussed the progress of the alliance and set the course for the coming year.

Award for Rux and Dobers

One highlight was the presentation of two new RUN-EU partner universities: the Technical University of Liberec (TUL) from the Czech Republic and the University of Galati (UGAL) from Romania. Another notable success for the FHV was the award for the RUN-EU managers Lisa Rux and Frauke Dobers, who took third place in the RUN-EU Impact Showcase Challenge for their concept and implementation of the co-creation format "RUN-EU EPA Missions". A great success that once again underlines the FHV's strong contribution to the European educational landscape.

Representing the FHV were university management Stefan Fitz-Rankl, head of research Markus Preißinger Marijana Milosevic, Lisa Rux and Frauke Dobers from the RUN-EU department, Tina Breuss (RUN-EU Staff Council; RUN-EU Quality Assurance Group), Helene Heller-Künz (RUN-EU Library Network) and Markus Ilg (RUN-EU Short-Term Formats, RUN-EU Entrepreneurship & Service to Society) as well as numerous students. The Vorarlberg region was represented by Harald Moosbrugger (Land Vorarlberg) and Tina Blaser (Wirtschafts-Standort Vorarlberg GmbH, WISTO), both associated partners of RUN-EU.
A total of 135 students from all RUN-EU partners, including 23 from the FHV, took part in four Short Advanced Program (SAP) challenges during the RUN-EU student week:

Gergő Szittyai Chair of the RUN-EU Student Council

In addition to participating in these programs, FHV students actively contributed to the annual meeting of the RUN-EU Student Council, a committee that represents the student voice in the RUN-EU Alliance and advises on all student-related matters. And once again, the FHV took on a leading role: FHV student Gergő Szittyai was elected Chair of the RUN-EU Student Council. In this role, he will represent and promote the interests of all students in RUN-EU.
