RUN-EU: Journal article on IT and OT security published

In view of the increasing convergence of information technology, operational technology and the Industrial Internet of Things, the authors show how AI-based methods - in particular machine learning and deep learning - are used to detect anomalies and attack scenarios.

The publication provides a comprehensive overview of the most important available network datasets, analyzes their content, metadata and complexity and provides comparative information. It thus supports researchers in finding suitable data sets for AI-based security tests and the further development of cybersecurity solutions in industry.

The article was written by universities of the RUN-EU network and published in the journal 'International Journal of Information Security' with the participation of Martin Dobler and Michael Hellwig from the research center Business Informatics.
