Service for students

The statutory task of general secondary schools (AHS) is to prepare students for university studies. Especially the pre-scientific work (VWA) is an important step in this direction.

In Vorarlberg, it has been possible to develop area-wide preparatory modules in a cooperation between the Education Directorate, the FHV and the Vorarlberg State Library. 

Each year, about 1000 pupils are prepared for this pre-scientific work.

The introduction to the pre-scientific work they receive at the FHV in individual workshops.

During these workshops, the students should independently develop ideas for the choice of topics and take the first steps towards project planning and implementation. 

Students at technical colleges also have to write a pre-scientific thesis for their Matura. For these theses with a technical focus, the FHV also offers workshops.
