Fundamental knowledge of algebra and analysis OR enrolment in this semesters mathematics lecture.

Course content
  • Fundamentals of mechanics:
    • Newtonian mechanics
    • Fundamentals of the kinematics of mass points
    • Dynamics of mass points
    • Expansion on the dynamics of a fixed body
    • Terms regarding Translational and rotational movements
    • Trajectory velocity acceleration force energy 
  • Fundamentals of thermodynamics:
    • physical interpretations of heat 
    • fundamentals of heat
    • diffusion of heat
Learning outcomes

The students are able to characterize a real object in terms of its main physical properties. The students understand and are able to apply mathematical physical modeling and therefore the quantification of processes in nature in terms of their technical relevance. The students also learn to tackle engineering problems using methods from physics.
