Specific admission requirements

Please note: The official language of instruction for all degree programmes at FH Vorarlberg is German. A few courses are also offered in English.

The master’s degree programme Mechatronics at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FH Vorarlberg) is a university degree programme and the following qualifications and skills are prerequisites to admission:

  • Successful completion of a subject-specific bachelor's degree or diploma programme in mechatronics or
  • Graduation from a bachelor's degree programme in a traditional engineering discipline in mechanical or electrical engineering in connection with a complementary post-secondary technical training of at least two semesters (e.g. a university course) or
  • Successful completion of an equivalent study programme

attended for at least six semesters and 180 ECTS at a recognised domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution, at which an admission requirement is the general university entrance qualification and which are recognised as educational institutions in the meaning of this definition by the laws of the country in which it is located.

In case that equivalence has been established basically and only certain supplementary qualifications are required for full equivalence, the programme director shall be entitled to tie the determination of equivalence to examinations to be taken during the master's degree programme. If the scientific and didactic concept of a University of Applied Sciences degree programme is based on professional experience, admission to such a University of Applied Sciences degree programme may be limited to an appropriate target group.
