Reflecting the own biography is a special method of reconstructing the own history of life. By reporting and coming to terms with the past, the current affairs and themes of life will get more comprehensible and understandable and give orientation for the future. At the same time we will form a first idea of our understanding concerning the professional identity as a social worker.
The students have reflected the own history of life, know about their themes of life and are aware of some of the reasons for the choice of becoming a social worker. They are capable of making a distinction between their own experiences, attitudes and values in life and those of others; they develop a respectful attitude towards other peoples biographies. They know some of their reasons for becoming a social worker and the wish of helping other people, and learn how to handle that in a professional way.
