Theories in Social Work I
The course consists in an overview of comprehensive theoretical approaches to Social Work. Social-Work-theories are perspectives with which social reality can be described and interpreted. The approaches will be discussed by means of differentiating criteria as scientific basis, theory-practice link, values or societal function of Social Work.
Students
- understand the relevance of theories as perspectives
- are able to differentiate the most important Social-Work-theories by criteria
- are able to classify and give an account of the assumptions and main features of these theories
