Alexander Simons is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences’ Department of Engineering and Technology. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Information Systems from the University of Münster in Germany and received his PhD and post-doctoral teaching qualification (“Habiliation”) in Business Economics from the University of Liechtenstein.

Alexander studies and teaches various issues related to digital innovation and transformation, covering topics such as immersive systems, gamification, crowdsourcing, and crowdfunding. He has published his research in leading academic journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research and in the proceedings of top-tier academic conferences such as the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS). Alexander’s papers have been covered by various publications, including Der Spiegel, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Der Standard, Die Presse, The Guardian, and Jyllands-Posten. He got nominated for several research and teaching awards, including best paper (ECIS) and most innovative short paper (ICIS), and his doctoral thesis was awarded the Research Prize of the Principality of Liechtenstein for best dissertation.
