Access & Usage for employees, lecturers and students of FH Vorarlberg

  • Access to the library is via the courtyard side entrance and from 21.9. is only possible with a campus card.
  • Please observe the applicable distance and hygiene rules, which are to be observed with binding effect.
  • Mouth and nose protection is obligatory on the entire campus.
  • Please use our self-check-out service for borrowing.
  • Media can be returned via the book flap on the ground floor of the C wing.
  • Interlibrary loans are limited and depend on the modalities of the borrowing libraries.
  • Hand and surface disinfectants are available in front of the library entrance and in various zones of the library.
  • Your stay in the library should be as short as possible.
  • Please research the required literature before your visit to the library using our library search engine Olav. There are no search options available on site.
  • An overview of our e-books, e-journals and databases can be found here. Remote access is possible via VPN connection (vpn-out) and/or Shibboleth.
  • Our reading room, the periodicals area, the study rooms etc. cannot be used.
  • In order to be able to assist with a quick follow-up of contact details in the event of a confirmed COVID19 illness with an official order, we ask you to leave your contact details in the contact list provided for this purpose when visiting the library. The corresponding data protection information can be found directly in the library or here.
  • Bring your own writing and working utensils and use them only.
  • When visiting the library, the instructions of the library staff and the hygiene guidelines on the notice board apply.

Access & use for external users

  • For external library users the library services are not available until at least October 18, 2020.
  • Loans will be extended until 2 November 2020. There is no return possibility until at least 18 October.
  • Library cards are automatically renewed for the duration of our closing time.

Who are we?

With over 77,000 media, the library at FH Vorarlberg is a hub for published knowledge. In addition to books, periodicals, CDs and DVDs, we provide access to thousands of e-books and e-journals as well as countless specialist databases.

Our collection focuses on the contents of the programmes offered to students at FH Vorarlberg and include the fields of economics, technology, design and social sciences. Our library also provides a space for communication and academic work.

Our library is accessible to the public.

The portal Pressreader offers access to over 7,000 daily newspapers and magazines from various countries. Included are, for example, daily updated issues of Washington Post, The Guardian, The Observer, Forbes, Standard, Presse, NZZ or FAZ.
